قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلنَّهَارَ سَرْمَدًا إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ مَنْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُم بِلَيْلٍ تَسْكُنُونَ فِيهِ ۖ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
Say, ‘Tell me, if Allah make the day continue over you till the Day of Resurrection, what God is there besides Allah who could bring you a night wherein you could rest? Will you not then see?’
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
تُو کہہ دے کہ بتاؤ تو سہی اگر اللہ تم پر دن، قیامت کے روز تک دراز کردے تو اللہ کے سوا کون معبود ہے جو تمہارے پاس رات کو لا سکے جس میں تم تسکین پاتے ہو؟ کیا تم بصیرت سے کام نہیں لو گے؟
French
Dis : « Dites-moi, si Allāh faisait durer sur vous le jour jusqu’au Jour de la Résurrection, quel dieu y a-t-il en dehors d’Allāh, qui pourrait vous apporter la nuit où vous pourriez vous reposer ! Ne voulez-vous donc pas voir ?

Sprich: "Saget mir, wenn Allah den Tag dauern ließe über euch bis zum Tage der Auferstehung, welcher Gott außer Allah könnte euch eine Nacht bringen, worin ihr ruhtet? Wollt ihr denn nicht einsehen?"

你 (对他们) 说: “你们告诉我, 如果安拉为你们把白天延长到复生日, 那么, 除了安拉以外, 还有哪个受崇拜的对象能为你们带来黑夜供你们休息? 你们为什么不观察?”

Diles “Decidme, si Al-lah hiciera el día continuo sobre vosotros hasta el Día de la Resurrección, ¿qué dios existe fuera de Al‑lah que pudiera devolveros la noche en la que podáis descansar? ¿No veréis pues?”.

تو کہہ دے مجھے بتاؤ تو سہی کہ اگر اللہ دن کو قیامت کے دن تک تمہارے لئے لمبا کر دے تو اللہ کے سوا کونسا معبود ہے جو تمہارے پاس رات کو لے آئے جس میں تم سکون پاؤ۔ کیا تم دیکھتے نہیں۔
English - Short Commentary Translation
Say, ‘Tell me, if Allah should make the day to continue perpetually over you till the Day of Resurrection, what god is there other than Allah who could bring you night wherein you could rest?[2230] Will you not then see?’
Whereas both perpetual work and perpetual rest are injurious to man’s physical health, periodical rest in the form of night and periodical work in the shape of day are great boons of God. At night our jaded and tired limbs are rested and we are able with renewed vigour to do the next day’s work, and in the day we work and earn our livelihood. Thus their alternation constitutes a great Divine blessing.

Say, ‘Tell me, if Allah make the day continue over you till the Day of Resurrection, what god is there besides Allah who could bring you night wherein you could rest? Will you not then see?’[2927]
Commentary:
While speaking of "the day" as in the present verse, the Quran uses the words "will you not then see" and when speaking of "the night" as in the preceding verse it uses the words, "will you not then hearken", the reason being that one cannot properly see at night.

اِن سے پوچھو، کبھی تم نے سوچا کہ اگر اللہ قیامت تک تم پر ہمیشہ کے لیے دن طاری کر دے تو اللہ کے سوا وہ کونسا معبُود ہے جو تمہیں رات لا دے تاکہ تم اس میں سکون حاصل کر سکو؟ کیا تم کو سُوجھتا نہیں؟

Say, "Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the day continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allah could bring you a night in which you may rest? Then will you not see?"
